There is no better way to truly immerse yourself in a new culture than to spend time with the locals. With a great group of friends, life in another country can be one of the best experiences of your life.

Here are some ideas to help you make friends abroad:
#1 - Join a society
Universities have a wide range of clubs, international organizations and student associations, which allows you to meet people with whom you already have something in common. Working with other students in study groups or joint projects can also be helpful when you want to meet new people. You can usually find information about student organizations on the university's website.
To stay in the information loop, it is recommended to join social media groups. There are many nomad groups on Facebook where you can find a community of men and women from your country living in Estonia.
#2 - Going to events
Use the opportunities offered by the university as well as local ones. University Facebook pages let you know what events are coming up, so keep an eye on them! Moreover, you can find almost all local events happening near you at the present moment and those happening in near future.
